| Victim-offender mediation is a voluntary process that works to facilitate a discussion between a juvenile offender and the victim(s) of his/her offense. The goal of victim-offender mediation is to provide an opportunity for the victim(s) to tell the juvenile about the impact that his/her actions have had and for the juvenile to work towards making things right. The program works collaboratively with the district court, the probation department, and several area court diversion programs, however, it is not a part of the criminal justice system. |
