A confidential process that provides families with an opportunity to address issues that are contributing to conflict in the home. Mediations sessions are facilitated by a team of trained mediators and aim to give families tools for effective communication and help them to gain insight into each other’s needs. Sessions usually last about an hour and families are asked to commit to participation in three sessions. A written agreement that outlines what family members have agreed upon is usually drawn up to give families a written record that they can refer to between sessions.
